David Cook stopped by The Broadway.com show recently to talk about his run as Charlie Price in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots.
The American Idol season 7 winner performed Charlie’s signature song “Soul of a Man” with piano accompaniment. Additionally, David showed off his character’s British accent. Spoiler alert: It’s pretty impressive!
David also reveals he quit sports in high school to star in high school musicals. His teen thespian endeavors lead to a musical theater scholarship (he eventually changed his major to graphic arts) and the rest is history.
