When David Cook’s older brother Adam, lost his battle with brain cancer in 2009, the American Idol season 7 winner doubled up on his efforts to raise money to beat the disease. Now, the singer has hit a very important milestone in his fundraising efforts. David and his army of fans have raised over 1 million dollars to fund brain cancer research!
To celebrate the milestone, David performed a concert at Jammin Java in Vienna VA last night (Dec 2). The 1 million threshold was reached during the concert, which was livestreamed for fans all over the world to watch–and donate even more right online.
David was willing to do just about anything to reach his goal–he literally auctioned the shirt off of his back for $1500!
Congrats, David, for a job well done!
Check out a few of the performances from the concert below. He did a few cool covers, including Coldplay’s “Clocks” and “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” and performed new music, including his latest single “Wait For Me.”
