David Cook is heading out today to Europe for a short tour of military bases in Europe. He’ll be entertaining the troops in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Italy.
And, according to the American Idol season 7 winner’s website, we can expect new music from the singer later this summer.

David has been working on recording his third post-Idol studio album for some time now. In April, he told reporters that for the new record, “This time around, I want to have fun, I want to try new things and expand — which is the goal with every record. I feel like I’m heading down the right path.”
Today’s update is the first concrete news about release dates! Hopefully we’ll at least get a new single by the end of summer.
