David Archuleta dropped a new song, which he jokingly described on social media as “Uptempo louder volume kind.” Or how about “jam of the century dance you feet off kind.” In any case, “Faith in Me,” written by David, along with Michael Campbell and Nate Dodge is propulsive and catchy. “It was one I just wanted to have fun with,” the American Idol season 7 alum shared.

The lyrics go: “We don’t have to stay here, we don’t really have to take it slow, Baby you can put your faith in me/I want to know, are you ready, take my hand and I won’t let you go, Baby you can put your faith in me.” After the chorus, David counts off “1, 2, 3 4” before an instrumental break. Nate Dodge produced the song.

“Faith in Me” is available everywhere to stream and download. Listen to it below.

The new song comes just as David finishes up a weeks long stint playing Joseph in the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Tuacahn Theater in Utah. The role was the singer’s first foray into musical theater.

On a side note, the photographer who took photos for the single cover posted a gallery of photos on Instagram. “I am the photographer behind @davidarchie ‘s new single, “Faith in Me”!!!,” they wrote. “This was such an amazing opportunity that I’ll never forget creating with David, artist to artist, was BEYOND. I’m delighted to have connected with such a genuinely authentic soul- who is good through and through.”

David commented, “It was such a fun photoshoot Alexi!! Thanks for making it like that and for being a part of this.”
