Chris Daughtry and his band go back to their roots with his guitar heavy new single “World on Fire.” The new song is timely, with lyrics like “Can you hear the crowd like a thousand sirens?/In the night like thunder striking/The sickness is rising/The angels are crying/That’s the sound of a world on fire.”
To support the new song, the American Idol and Masked Singer alum has asked fans to help propel the song to No. 1 on the iTunes Rock chart. But alas, a song from the late 80’s, Phil Collins‘ “In the Air Tonight” has kept him out of the top spot. (Dang those pesky teenagers and their charming reaction videos!). And now that Nickelback has released a cover of Charlie Daniels “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”? Well, maybe next time Chris!
It’s all good, because after laying low with his family during the COVID-19 quarantine, Chris is embarking on a special tour that will aid local music venues. Throughout August and September, Chris will host 19 performances, streamed live from Nashville and broadcasted to fans across the United States. A percentage of the revenue from each show will go directly to the partnering venue. Check out this link for more information and to buy tickets.
