Dancing With The Stars – Week 6 – VIDEO

Five of the men and three of the woman remain out of the original 13 contestant couples.

Tonight’s dances: The Jive and the Rumba.

Next week, 1960’s group routine. Tomorrow, Rascal Flatts.

Lil Kim and Derek’s fun Jive earned them the high score of the night, 28, with Carrie Ann and Bruno both giving them a 10. They only scored an 8 from Len, that old traditionalist, who wanted more Jive in the dance.

Steve-O and Lacey were once again the low scoring couple for their Rumba–only 16. Maybe this is the end of the line for the Steve-O, whose puppy dog eyes made Carrie Ann give him a 7 tonight. I probably would have done the same. Heh.

Melissa and Tony’s fancy footwork impressed the judges enough to earn them a 27, the second highest score of the night. Gilles and Cheryl’s frenetic Jive only scored a 26–sexy Gilles is better than frantic Gilles.

Going home: Everybody left is either an awesome dancer or super likable (Ty!). I think this is it for Steve-O.

Recap and Video after the JUMP…

Ty and Chelsie – Jive – Chelsie tries to help Ty learn to loosen up. Hey, what’s with the line dancing?. He still looks a little stiff, but better than last week, for sure. Chelsie’s doing most of the heavy lifting. Len says, “You’re charming, you give it your all, unfortunately…it wasn’t that good.”   Bruno says, “The line dancing was good, but then the jive started…” Bruno didn’t like the kicks and flicks. Carrie Ann says, “That was an exciting Jive. Unfortunately…you didn’t find your footing.” Carrie Ann – 6,   Len – 6, Bruno – 6 –   18 – 1-800-868-3408.

Shawn and Mark – Rumba – Shawn is shy and feels out of her comfort zone and she’s missing her prom! She looks a little out of her element, but she does a nice job. Bruno, “That was so beautifully pure…you have to push a little more on the hip action.” Carrie Ann says, “I could see the discomfort in your eyes, but you brought it in the second half.” Len says, “Sometimes the rumbas are too hot, but you got this just right.” Mark choreographed the dance so that it was “age appropriate” in other words, sweet but not too sexy for the 17 year old Shawn, who does not care that she’s missing her prom. Carrie Ann – 8 Len – 9 Bruno – 9 – 26 1-800-868-3409.

Lawrence and Edyta – Jive – Warren Sapp drops by to give Lawrence some encouragement. Lawrence has loosened up, but he still doesn’t look like he’s having much fun. Carrie Ann says, “You brought your groove back.”   Len says, “There was a lot of basic movement in there…a little lighter in your feet.” Bruno says, “Alive and kicking…you were having a good time…good timing…best performance to date.” Carrie Ann – 7   Len – 7   Bruno   8 – 22 (best score yet) – 1-800-868-3403.

Melissa and Tony – Rumba –   Melissa says the dance is coming together a lot easier than last week’s Paso. She’s pulling off some really difficult moves.   Nice.   Len says, “it was clean and precise…it could be a bit more earthy…too balletic…but great job.” Bruno says, “You are exotic…I want to see Melissa the maneater…but fabulous.”   Carrie Ann found the dance believable and tells her to get her hips going.   Melissa says that unlike the Paso, they got working on the character right away. Carie Ann – 9 Len – 9   Bruno – 9 – 27– 1-800-868-3413.

Lil Kim and Derek – Jive –   Lil Kim says they have awesome chemistry, even though she’s a jailbird and he’s a dancer from Utah.   Lil Kim’s on fire, just like the hood! Ha ha the song is “Jailhouse Rock” Now, they actually look like they’re having a blast up there. Bruno says, “I’m guilty arrest me! You rocked! Fabulous.”   Carrie Ann gets up to cheer and hug Lil Kim. Maybe a little too enthusiastically–Tom had to step in front of Kim while she fixed her top. “Mindblowing!” says Carrie Ann. Len says, “Fun, energy, ” says Len. But he wanted more Jive. Carrie Ann – 10 Len – 8 Bruno – 10 – 28 1-800-868-3401.

Steve-O and Lacey – Rumba – Steve-O is going to give his fans all the love he’s got. “How am I supposed to be in love with you when you keep farting, ” says Lacey. Lolz.   Aw, Steve-O’s dog comes to visit and it’s adorable! Steve-O’s dancing consists of lots of pointing and stomping, while Lacey does the heavy lifting. Oh look, the dwarf is in the audience. Carrie Ann says, “There was something oddly mesmerizing watching your dance…you’re so vulnerable…you need to work on your grace.” Len says, “You can’t confuse movement with dancing, no hip action, no foot work, no good.”   Bruno says, “Thank God for racey Lacey…the dancing is bad.” Carrie Ann – 7, Len – 4, Bruno – 5 – 16– 1-800-868-3404

Gilles and Cheryl – Jive –   It’s time for the fun energetic Gilles. I like the sexy Gilles better,  but this will do. Len says, “You showed a lot of the qualities…you went a little bit wrong on one of the steps…a little be frentic.” Bruno says, “Fast and furious…you put 110 percent in everything you do…but you lose the sharpness.” Carrie Ann says, “You can do showy too…there was something weird with your arms tonight. ”   Gilles said this was the hardest dance yet. Carrie Ann – 9, Len – 8, Bruno – 9 – 26. Wow, the scores were better than their remarks. 1-800-868-3405.

Chuck and Julianne – Rumba –   Chuck hopes he has chemistry with his girlfriend on the dance floor. It’s pretty good, but the look on Chuck’s face says, “I’m working really hard.” rather than, “I love you.” Bruno says, “I’ll have some more of that, please…you switched on the raunch factor…technically it is not perfect.” Carrie Ann says, “Most passionate sexy dance of the night.” Len says, “Parts of that were more suitable for the bedroom than the ballroom…sometimes you look a bit mechanical.” Carrie Ann – 8, Len – 7, Bruno – 8 – 23 – 1-800-868-3406.
