Dancing With The Stars – Week 2 – VIDEO

Gilles and Cheryl had tonight’s high score–27.   They also have the highest overall score–51.   Steve-o and Lacey, whose scores were based on their dress rehearsal dance, had a low score of   14.   The lowest combined score, 30, belongs to Steve and KarinaBesides Steve-0, who hurt his back in dress rehearsal tonight (he did a front flip, landing on his mic pack which was strapped to his back. There was swelling, and a hospital visit, but no broken bones) there were other injuries plaguing the dancers this week:   Steve Wozniak suffered a fractured foot and Gilles Marini a separated shoulder. Both were able to dance tonight.   Steve-o and Lacey were judged on their dress rehearsal performance.

Tomorrow night’s results show, at 9 pm ET, features music from Jewel and Big Bad Voo Doo Daddy.   The Bottom Two dancers will dance off in front of the judges for brand new scores.

I’m guessing the bottom two during tomorrow’s results show will be Steve-o and Lacey and Steve and Karina. But, with Steve-0’s bad back, how will they dance off?   If he and Lacey have the lowest score, maybe there will be an elimination with no dance-off.

Holly and Dmitry – Quickstep – She’s one of the newbies, trying to improve. Holly can barely keep up! Len says her upper body posture was lacking, but, “good job.” Stop staring at her boobs, Len!   Bruno noted that Holly couldn’t keep up. Carrie Ann said it was nice that she trusted her partner, but Dmitry was dragging her around like a rag doll. Carrie Ann – 6 Len – 6 Bruno – 6 – 18 – Total – 36 – 1-800-868-3407. – VIDEO

More after the JUMP…

David and Kym – Salsa – And what is David Allen Grier all about.   Do we care?   When David shakes, he looks like he’s going into convulsions. His “dancing” is a bit creaky – Bruno says, “Your character was right, your timing and hip action was off.” Carrie Ann says he wasn’t driven from the musicality. Len says he came out and performed, but far too much of Kym, not enough of David. Carrie Ann – 6   Len – 5 Bruno – 6 – 17 – Total – 36 – 1-800-868-3411 – VIDEO

Denise and Maks -Quickstep – Denise does not like the quickstep. Oops. She messed up. The judges notice, but all think she performed better than last week. Carrie Ann says, “Much better, fantastic.” Len says, “Great improvement.” Bruno says, “Great leg action.” Carrie Ann – 7 Len -7, Bruno – 7 – 21 – Total – 39 – 1-800-868-3412. – VIDEO

Belinda and Jonathan – Salsa –   Belinda says she wasn’t prepared for the DWTS challenge mentally or emotionally. She’s going to dance like she did with the Go Gos. This is better than last week. Whoa. Handstand! Tricky. “I messed up, ” says Belinda when she came off the floor.   Len says her hip action was lacking. Bruno says her timing and rhythm were off, but it’s nice she’s letting her hair down. Carrie Ann says it was free, but not very graceful. Carrie Ann – 6 Len – 6 Bruno – 6 – 18 – Total- 35 – 1-800-868-3402. – VIDEO

Ty and Chelsie – Quickstep – Poor Chelsie has to dance with this dud. Ty has a new “concentration face.” This is better than last week, but he still looks all kinds of awkward up there. The judges are impressed, however: Carrie Ann says, “Excellent…good job.” Bruno says, “You were in charge, your posture was straight.”   Len says, “Last week a caterpillar, this week a butterfly, you have a really strong core.” Well, relatively speaking… Carrie Ann – 7 Len – 6 Bruno – 7 – 20 – Total – 34 – 1-800-868-3408. – VIDEO

Shawn and Mark – Salsa – Shawn is having a hard time loosening up to do the salsa. Nice spray tan there, Shawn! She’s orange from head to toe. Her steps are there, but she looks a little uncomfortable, the salsa isn’t her dance. Bruno calls her a cute little thing, “Charming, precise” but says she has to be more naughty.   Len wants her to throw caution to the winds a little more. Carrie Ann also compliments her technique. Carrie Ann -8 Len- 8 Bruno – 8 –24 – Total – 47 1-800-868-3409. – VIDEO

Steve and Karina – Quickstep – Steve is having such an awesome time. Too bad he sucks. Steve was given the OK to dance despite suffering from a fractured foot. This quickstep ain’t quick. Soooo bad. It’s a little painful watching Steve gallump around the stage. Len compliments the music. That’s about it.   Carrie Ann enjoys watching him and attempts to give him pointers. Waste of time!   Bruno admires his resilience. Carrie Ann – 6 Len – 5 Bruno 6 – 17 Total – 30. Wow, the judges scores were high for that. 1-800-868-3410. – VIDEO

Chuck and Julianne – Salsa –   Chuck is not comfortable with the feminine moves, cause he’s so macho. Then he calls Julianne’s brother Derek, gay. So, Julianne does all the heavy lifting, while Chuck mostly plays it safe. Bruno says, “She did all the work…we want more.” Len says, “You should come out here and sell this dance.” Carrie Ann says, “You have a lot of potential, but that didn’t feel like a Salsa.Carrie Ann – 6 Len – 7 Bruno – 7 – 20 Total – 40 – 1-800-868-3406. – VIDEO

Lawrence and Edyta – Quickstep – Lawrence isn’t feeling very floatie doing the quickstep. But he’s doing great. The best quickstep of the night. He’s flying up and down those stairs. Wow. Carrie Ann says, “Much better…smooth and powerful.” Bruno says “That’s a competitor, you attacked this performance and you performed.” Len says “Well done.” Carrie Ann – 7 Len – 6, Bruno – 7 – 20 – Total – 36 – 1-800-868-3403. Hm. I think those scores are low.   – VIDEO

Steve-o and Lacey – Salsa – Plans to do the Salsa Steve-o style go awry when he hurts his back in dress rehearsal today. Since Steve made it through the dress rehearsal performance that’s what we’ll watch.   Wow, the king of stunts was pretty lame.   But then, maybe they were saving their all-out performance for the live show. That last move when he lands on his mic pack–OUCH. Len says, “I didn’t get it.” Bruno says, “This was like a series of unfortunate events.” Carrie Ann says, “I saw promise in Steve-o…but not right for Salsa.” Carrie Ann – 5, Len – 4, Bruno – 5 – 14 Total – 31 –   He’s in the hospital–we’ll hear more tomorrow. 1-800-868-3404 – VIDEO

Lil Kim and Derek – Quickstep –   Lil’s having a hard time holding back her groove thang. Nevertheless, nice job! Bruno admires her bling and calls her performance vivacious and uplifting. Carrie Ann says, “That was great” and compliments Derek’s choreography.   They need to practice their hold. Len says, “No refinement.”   Carrie Ann and Bruno disagree. Len knocks them for their lack of body contact. – Carrie Ann – 8 Len – 7 Bruno – 8 – 23 – Total – 44 – 1-800-868-3401 – VIDEO

Melissa and Tony – Salsa – She studied ballet and used to be a cheerleader, but says she’s never danced with a partner before.   Her dance training shows.   She’s very good.   She could run away with this thing. Carrie Ann says, “Finally a real salsa…that was slamming.” Len says, “I was gyrating on this seat…it was absolutely spot on…salsa of the night.”   Bruno says, “That was a juicy salsa…and I want more.”   Carrie Ann – 9 Len – 8 Bruno – 9 – 26 Total – 49 – 1-800-868-3413 – VIDEO

Gilles and Cheryl –   Quickstep -Gilles took of his shirt. Oh yay!   Oh noes, he separated his shoulder, but he’s OK. Ha ha the Clark Kent glasses are a nice touch. Another awesome week from Gilles.   I want to keep this eye candy on my Tee Vee for as long as possible. Len says, “This is great…well done.” Bruno says, “French class and American flair.” Carrie Ann says, “You were making the ladies swoon over there, good job.” Carrie Ann -9, Len – 9, Bruno – 9 – 27 – Total 51 – 1-800-868-3405 – VIDEO
