Dancing with the Stars 32: Pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev is out with Covid. Ezra Sousa will step in as Charity Lawson’s partner
Oh no. It was bound to happen sooner or later this season. A Dancing with the Stars pro is out with Covid. The DWTS social media account announced that Artem Chigvintsev will not be able to dance tonight (Oct 3). Pro dancer and troupe member Ezra Sousa will dance with The Bachelorette Charity Lawson for Latin Week.
DWTS 32 Spoilers: Latin Night Dance Styles and Song Choices
Charity and Ezra will dance a Cha cha cha to “She Bangs” by Ricky Martin. “Artem will not be dancing tonight due to COVID,” states the DWTS social media post. “Wishing him a quick recovery!” He will likely return to the show next week.
Artem’s illness comes at a crucial time for the partnership. The two TOPPED the leaderboard at the end of last week’s premiere earning a 22 out of 30 for their tango to Rihanna’s “Only Girl (In the World).” Without Artem by her side, and Ezra stepping in at the last moment, Charity may find it challenging to keep the momentum going.
In week 2, the remaining 13 couples will dance to music celebrating Latin heritage
In the meantime, for week 2, the 13 remaining couples will heat up the ballroom floor with all-new dances performed to music celebrating Latin heritage. The episode will be simulcast LIVE across both ABC and Disney+ in local time zones and next day on Hulu.
The night will feature a fiery opening number to “DESPECHÁ” by ROSALÍA, choreographed by pros Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov, with partner dances including the Cha Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Samba or Tango.
Dancing with the Stars is co-hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough sit on the judges panel.
