DWTS Duo Maks and Peta Introduce Baby Shai (VIDEO)

On Friday’s Good Morning America, Dancing with the Stars pros Maks Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd introduced their little bundle of joy for the first time.

Baby Shai–the name comes from the Hebrew word for “gift”–is a little over a month old and the spitting image of mom. “I was hoping he’d look like me and have her personality,” joked Maks adding that he changed the first diaper, “and the last one too.

Introducing their son to the world is “nerve wracking” admitted Peta. “I specifically wanted to keep him very private from the beginning. We just want to keep him for ourselves.” Maks added, “We just wanted to…settle into it. This is our child. Every time somebody comes, you share him with somebody else.”

Would the couple want Shai to become a dancer like mom and dad? “I hope never,” Maks said, laughing, when asked how long before Shai starts dancing. Maks joked that Shai grows to be really tall, he could have a billion dollar NBA contract like LeBron James.

On getting back in shape Peta isn’t sweating it. “I literally left the hospital looking five months pregnant,” she confessed. “At first I was like, ‘oh wow’ I was a little disappointed.” But then she realized, “I just did the most beautiful thing that a woman can produce and do in life. I need to just suck it up…not worry about the little things.”

The couple are currently planning a large wedding, “three days with 300 people.” But, Peta adds, “It’s not about me any more. It’s all about Shai. It’s amazing. I’m OK with it.”

As far as the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars is concerned, the couple are coy. “Maybe,” said Peta but adding there were more important things than making sure her mascara is applied.
