American Idol season 11 alum Deandre Brackensick join forces with the retro outfit Postmodern Jukebox for a 70’s soul style version of Ariana Grande’s hit, “Side to Side.”

You may remember Deandre as the young singer with an old school soul and impressive falsetto. And not to mention–totally impressive hula skills! It’s awesome to hear that smooth silky voice again.

Currently, Deandre is crowdfunding an album via Kickstarter. “Been through a lot of ups and downs in the music industry,” writes Deandre, “so I decided to just do my own music independently. Want to make a record.” So far, the singer has raised nearly $7,000 of an $8,000 goal, with 43 days to go.

Postmodern Jukebox continue their European tour with Deandre’s fellow season 11 musician Casey Abrams in tow. The band will move on to Europe next month, where season 6 runner-up Blake Lewis will join them. Click for schedule and ticket information.
