Here’s how it usually goes down every new season of Dancing with the Stars. A Good Morning America reveal is scheduled and constantly promoted by ABC. But by the time the date rolls around, nearly every celebrity pairing is spoiled, thanks to “leaks” from various entertainment sites. This season is no different.
The latest reveals includes Lindsey Stirling who was a quarter-finalist on season 5 of America’s Got Talent in 2010. She performs choreographed violin routines during live concerts and on her popular YouTube channel. (US Magazine)
Also Shark Tank shark, Barbara Corcoran and former NBA star Derek Fisher are set to join the cast for the upcoming season when it premieres on Monday, Sept. 18 (Via E News)
Back in June, Fisher, a former Lakers champion and the ex-head coach of the New York Knicks, was arrested on suspicion of DUI charges in California after flipping his car while driving on the freeway with his girlfriend, Basketball Wives star Gloria Govan. In other words: Hello rehabilitation tour!
Also E reports that Disney and Hamilton star, Jordan Fisher is dancing (He was a standout in the FOX live production of Grease last spring). And Malcolm in the Middle star turned race car driver, Frankie Muniz will join the cast.
Additionally, former Paralympic swimmer Victoria Arlen will be paired up with Val Chmerkovskiy, according to Entertainment Tonight.
“Val is beyond excited about his partner this season,” ET’s source said. “He’s completely re-energized and is feeling really optimistic about this season.”
Arlen’s story is miraculous:
When she was just 11 years old, Arlen developed two rare conditions known as transverse myelitis and acute disseminated encephalomyelitis. This caused her to quickly lose the ability to speak, eat, walk and move, and was told by doctors that there was little hope for survival and that recovery was highly unlikely.
Flash forward to 2010, and the impossible was made possible when Arlen learned how to speak, eat and move again. Two years later, Arlen qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London as a paralympic swimmer with Team USA. She won four medals that year: one gold and three silver.
Then, in 2016, she learned how to walk after spending nearly a decade paralyzed from the waist down.
Also rumored to be dancing are Nick Lachey, Vanessa Lachey, and Nikki Bella. Earlier this week, Good Morning America officially announced that Property Brothers Drew Scott would compete alongside pro Emma Slater
Fun Fact: Bobby Brown was all set to join the cast, but he bailed at the last minute, reports US Magazine.
