Last night, on Dancing With the Stars, the final four contestants performed two routines including the highly-anticipated freestyle and despite a perfect score on their last dance, Bethany and Derek were eliminated from the competition.
Tonight, on the final night of the competition, Alfonso, Sadie and Janel will perform a Fusion routine to complete their judges’ score, the eliminated celebrities will return and there will be performances from Jennifer Hudson, Meghan Trainor and Nick Jonas.
And we’re off… As promised, the show kicks off with a high-energy all cast performance featuring a reunion of all thirteen of this season’s couples, the judges and hosts.
Now, we are treated to highlight’s from last night’s show, as well as, some behind the scenes action. Then, as decided by a Twitter vote, Bethany and Derek return to perform their Freestyle as an encore. This really was a great routine and I still think she should be in Sadie’s spot.
We’re back from the break and it’s time to take another trip down memory lane, starting with week one and ending with week three, when Randy Couture was eliminated. He and his partner Karina perform to “The Way You Look Tonight”.
Now, Nick Jonas hits the stage to perform his hit single, “Jealous”, in way too many clothes. I’m not a big fan of his self-titled album, but I love this song and its official remix with Tinashe.
We’re back from yet another break and we are immediately treated to a performance from Janel and Val taking of their recreation of ‘West Side Story’, the first dance to earn a perfect score.
Now, Jonathan and his celebrity pro Allison team up with her husband, Twitch, for his Jazz routine, before we see some r-rated outtakes and Betsy and Tony taking on their Cha Cha.
Next, Sadie and Mark and Michael and Emma take on their past Cha Cha routines, before we take a trip back down memory lane with their Most Memorable Year, The Switch Up and more.
Then, Antonio and Cheryl return to perform to “Tonight (I’m Loving You)”, before the final four recreate ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ theme.
Now, Jennifer Hudson teams up with Gorgon City for a performance of “Go All Night”.
Alfonso and Witney welcome us back to the show with their Jazz routine featuring the Carlton, before Lea and Artem tackle their Jive routine to “Maneater”.
Next, the female professionals take on one of the hottest routines of the season when they perform to “Bo$$” by Fifth Harmony. This is so good!
We’re back… The three new professionals (Allison, Keo and Artem) perform to “Come Get It Babe” by Pharrell, then Tommy and Peta take on “Drop It Like It’s Hot” again.
Now, the celebrities and the pros tell us what they are thankful for, before we are treated to a holiday-inspired routine from six of the professionals.
It is Bruno’s birthday and he gets a cake to celebrate, then Bethany and Derek perform their memorable Paso Doble. Next, we are shown highlights from the last four weeks.
Meghan Trainor is up now to perform a medley of her No.1 hit, “All About That Bass”, and her new single, “Lips Are Moving”. She should enjoy this time in her career, because in five years…
We return to Allison and Twitch performing and now, it’s time for the final routines.
Sadie (Samba/Quick Step)
Mark is proud that she has come this far with zero dance experience and for her, this three month would feel completely worth it if she goes home with the trophy. They only had 24 hours to work on this dance and in the beginning, you can really tell. It is kind of sloppy. Len says she has had a Cinderella story on the show, Julianne says she has come so far since week one, Bruno says her charm always shines through and Carrie Ann loves that she stuck to her guns throughout the season. This score is ridiculous!
Carrie Ann-10, Len-10, Julianne-10, Bruno-10 = 40/40
Janel (Fox Trot/Paso Doble)
They are sad about their last dance, but are excited to get to know each other outside of this crazy show. I said weeks ago that Janel had emerged as the only true threat to Alfonso and she reaffirms that here. This is awesome. This is a deserving of a perfect score unlike the previous dance. Julianne wanted it to keep going, Bruno says they are amazing together, Carrie Ann says it was a riveting dance and Len says they combine the how with the wow.
Carrie Ann-10, Len-10, Julianne-10, Bruno-10 = 40/40
Alfonso (Jive)
Alfonso doesn’t think he is going to know what to do after the show is over and Witney realizes how close the competition is. The best dancer doesn’t always win (Mario Lopez), but hopefully American gets it right and his 10 year journey get completed tonight. Bruno says he is a legend, Carrie Ann says his love for dance shines, Len says he is such a natural and Julianne says that Witney has done an amazing job.
Carrie Ann-10, Len-10, Julianne-10, Bruno-10 = 40/40
Alfonso – 120/120
Sadie – 118/120
Janel – 117/120
Now, it’s time to find out which couple lands in third place. Unless the cameo from Liam had a big impact, Sadie should be eliminated here, but she isn’t. JANEL FINISHES IN THIRD PLACE!!!
We’re back and now, it is time to crown a champion. Separated by just two judges’ points, THE WINNERS OF ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ ARE… ALFONSO AND WITNEY!!!
