Another week with the Chainsmokers at the top of the chart. Week 10. Like cigarette smoke, this chart smells stale. The entire year, it has been moving at a glacial pace. This is the November 9th chart and we’ve only had 10 chart toppers this year. They tried to make it sound like a race for the top song of the summer, but “One Dance” toped the entire month of June and July. Guess what was the song of summer? Only thirty three songs have topped the Hot 100 chart for 10 weeks since its inception in 1958 – 3 have done it in the last year.
Anyway, Maroon 5 (which features permanent Voice coach Adam Levine) arrives in the top 10 with “Don’t Wanna Know”. Chainsmokers top every contributing chart.
