Constantine Maroulis Returns to Broadway’s Rock of Ages

Broadway World reports that American Idol season 4 alum, Constantine Maroulis, will return to his Tony-nominated role in Broadway’s Rock of Ages.

Tony Award nominee and “American Idol” finalist Constantine Maroulis returns to the smash hit musical Rock of Ages as Drew on Monday, August 4, 2014 for a limited 12-week engagement through October 26, 2014. The five-time Tony Award nominated musical Rock of Ages – which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary on Broadway, and its spot in the Top 30 Longest-Running Broadway Shows in History – continues to offer Broadway’s Best Party eight times a week at the Helen Hayes Theatre, 240 West 44th Street.

He writes: “Before anyone ever cared where I would perform, I was a kid from Rock of Ages. It’s where I walked. It’s where I ran. It’s where I cried. It’s where I bled. It holds a special place in my heart. People there have seen me grow up. I sometimes feel like I’m their son. Their passion can be overwhelming. But it drives me. I want to give them hope when I can. I want to inspire them when I can. My relationship with Rock of Ages is bigger than Broadway. I didn’t realize that four years ago. I do now. I’m ready to accept the challenge. I’m coming home.”

Constantine originated the role of the young rock n roll hopeful, Drew. He played the character for 3 consecutive years, off and on Broadway and on a nationwide tour.

The actor/singer’s other Broadway credits include The Wedding Singer and Jekyll & Hyde.
