Congratulations to Colton Dixon and Mandisa who came away from The Dove Awards last night with trophies. The annual event, which took place at the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University, celebrates Christian/Gospel music.
American Idol season 11 alum, Colton Dixon, was nominated for 3 awards, including New Artist of the Year and Rock/Contemporary Song. He won in the Rock/Contemporary Album category for his debut album, The Messenger.
Colton was also on hand to perform his Christian hit, “Never Gone.”

Mandisa, an alum of American Idol season 5, took home the honorary “UPlift Someone” award. She just released her latest CD Overcomer. The title track is currently climbing the Christian radio charts.

Other big winners of the night included TobyMac, who won Artist of the year and For King and Country who nabbed Artist of the Year. Mark Redman was the leader, winning six awards. See the full list of winners HERE.
