“Gravity” by John Mayer is a song Clark Beckham wanted to perform during the American Idol 14 competition, but never got the opportunity.
In a conference call with reporters, conducted in May after he became runner-up to Nick Fradiani in the competition, Clark called “Gravity” one of his all-time favorite songs. “I think. I really relate to that song,” he said, “I think it’s one of the most important songs written in years.”
And now, here’s Clark, with an acoustic rendition of “Gravity” and it’s fabulous! The singer accompanies himself on piano, with an assist from fellow soul crooner, Abby Smith. She’s also got some amazing pipes. The two together are simply divine.
