Chris Daughtry Record News! New CD drops Next Year – Deluxe Daughtry in September

Chris Daughtry

This little item slipped by me over the 4th of July Holiday. Chris Daughtry recently spoke with Shirley Halperin about his upcoming album, due to be released in spring of ’09:

What can fans expect from the followup to his four-times-platinum debut, Daughtry? “It’s going to be a big huge rock album, ” he says. “We are working with the same producer ‘ Howard Benson [All American Rejects, My Chemical Romance] ‘ same band and some of the same writers so it feels very comfortable this time around.” The band is looking at a 2009 release, Spring at the earliest, which means several more extended stays in Los Angeles…

Kelly Clarkson is also mentioned in the article. She has a pre-Christmas album release scheduled. But I digress!

Fans of Daughtry’s first album can purchase the Deluxe Edition due in stores September 9. The CD/DVD package will include four additional songs, including acoustic versions of “Home” and “What About Now, ” a live version of “It’s Not Over” and a cover of Foreigner’s “Feels Like The First Time.” The DVD will contain behind-the-scenes footage, music videos and other content.
