Chris Daughtry Continues to Work on ” Very Important” Sophomore Record

Chris Daughtry posts a Christmas message on his website:

Hey everybody. Just wanted to say happy holidays to everyone. I also wanted to thank you all for voting for us and helping us win our 4th AMA! We are ever so grateful and appreciative to all you guys.

Well, nothing much going on here other than spending time with the fam, working on new songs…and growing beards. Can’t wait to get back on the road and start playing these new tunes of epic proportions. We’ve put alot of work…and are continuing to put a lot of work into this very important sophomore record. Considering it could make or break us…we’re over writing, over tracking, and taking our sweet time. Gotta get this one right! Thanks for your patience. Much love and God bless.-CD

In a previous blog post, Chris wrote that he and the band were working slowly but surely on a the new album–scheduled for release in summer 2009. Trying to avoid that sophomore slump–I can totally understand their taking it slow.

In the meantime, Daughtry joins David Cook, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Scott Wieland on December 31 to perform on New Year’s Eve Live, FOX 11:00 PM ET – (CT/MT/PT tape-delayed) for some double-Idol goodness. Yay.
