Well, so says TVLine, anyway.
Three months after his high profile departure from Glee, Chord Overstreet is in final talks to return to the show on a recurring basis, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Assuming the deal closes — and I’m told it definitely will — Overstreet will reprise his role as the sweet, sculpted Sam beginning with this season’s eighth episode (tentatively scheduled to air in early December).
“We missed Chord and Chord missed us, ” says a source close to the show. “It’s a win-win.”
After failing to promote him to series regular with his fellow cast-mates Harry Shrum Jr. and Darren Criss, Chord decided to turn down the 10 episode deal as a recurring character offered by Glee producers.
Chord went on to a guest spot as a teacher on The Middle and began work on an album.
Hm. Maybe he realized the decision to leave McKinley High was a bit too hasty? To be honest, I haven’t missed him at all. But I’ll probably be glad to see him again.
Episodes 6 and 7 are currently in production. If the deal closes, we should be hearing about Trouty Mouth’s happy reunion with his Glee pals fairly soon.
And I was just about to stop following him on twitter!
