Julie welcomes us to premiere night. She says this season’s cast includes Emmy winners, pop stars, and athletes. They will live inside the Big Brother house for a month as they battle their way to the end to claim the $250,000 prize.

MEET THE HOUSEGUESTS
Carson Kressley is the first to enter the house. He is a TV personality from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and RuPaul’s Drag Race. He wants to act like the “Martha Stewart” of the house, but he claims he’s secretively competitive. Cynthia Bailey is the next to enter the house. She’s a model and an actress. She’s also part of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She says the Big Brother house should be a cakewalk after being on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Chris Kirkpatrick enters the house next. He was a member of *NSYNC. He calls himself a super fan of Big Brother. Shanna Moakler is the next to enter the house. She is a former Miss USA and Playboy Playmate. She says there’s nothing she won’t do to win the game. Todd Bridges is the next to walk inside the house. He’s an actor from Diff’rent Strokes. Cynthia had a crush on him growing up. Mirai Nagasu is next. She is an Olympic medalist. She is known for being the first American ladies’ singles figure skater to land a triple axel at the Olympics. Chris Kattan is next. He is an actor and comedian. He hopes his likability will help him win. Todrick Hall is the next to enter the house. He is a singer and Broadway performer. He’s a big fan of Big Brother. He hopes to play like Big Brother 10 winner Dan Gheesling. Miesha Tate enters the house next. She is a former UFC Champion. She says she’s physically, mentally, and emotionally capable to win the game. Teddi Mellencamp enters the house next. She’s part of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She’s also the daughter of John Mellencamp. She thinks she can easily handle the celebrities in the Big Brother house. Lamar Odom is the last to enter the house. He is a former NBA champion. He says he’s a fighter who never gives up.

The celebrities gather around and toast to the new season. Afterwards, they chat amongst themselves. Chris Kattan can’t remember anyone’s name. Lamar Odom’s 6’10” height impresses his Houseguests. Carson wants to form an alliance with the people he knows. He approaches Todrick, Cynthia, and Shanna for an alliance. They are all on board.

HOH COMPETITION
Before the competition begins, the celebrities gather in the living room to hear what Julie has to say. She tells them this season will be on overdrive. There will be an HoH competition, a Power of Veto competition, and an eviction twice a week. Two celebrities will be evicted each week until one claims the $250,000 prize. Afterwards, they head to the backyard to compete in their first competition.

All the celebrities walk out wearing extravagant outfits. Before they can compete, Julie asks for someone to volunteer to be the Master of Ceremonies. This person will have to sit out of the competition, and he or she won’t have guaranteed safety. Todd Bridges volunteers. Afterwards, the competition begins. Each celebrity must climb onto a swing and be lifted up in the air. If they fall, then they are eliminated. The last one hanging on will be the first Head of Household of the season. Chris Kattan is the first to fall after a minute and a half. Cynthia falls next. Shanna and Lamar fall at the same time. Chris Kirkpatrick falls next. Carson falls afterwards.  Only four celebrities remain in the competition. After looking steady throughout the competition, Mirai is the next to fall. Todrick asks Miesha for safety if he drops. Miesha promises him safety. Todrick drops from the competition. Teddi asks for safety too, but Miesha tells her she cannot give her the same promise. Teddi ends up falling. Miesha is the first HoH of the season!

Before the episode ends, Julie reveals there’s a twist. There is a secret power inside a gift box. It’s called the Gala Gift. Julie teases that it will be a blessing for one and a curse for another. We’ll find out the details of this power in the next episode.
