CBS’ ‘Big Brother’ Renewed For Season 16

Are you thinking to yourself: “I’m going to miss those asshats of the Big Brother 15 house so much when it ends next week.” Nah. You probably aren’t. But nevertheless, CBS has renewed the reality competition for another cycle.

Also, the live, late-night companion show Big Brother: After Dark, which moved from Showtime to new CBS sibling TVGN this summer, has been renewed for another installment and will stay put on the basic cable network.

Ugly racist, misogynist and homophobic remarks, bullying, whiny rat behavior characterized the current season. And yet, the long-running show is up +11% in viewers and +8% in adults 18-49 vs. last summer.

I weep for humanity. I weep for myself, because I’m not gonna lie…I’m watching it.

Big Brother will end cycle 15 with a 90-minute finale next Wednesday at 9:30 PM on CBS. I’ll be liveblogging! At 8 pm, it’s the premiere of Survivor, brought to you by Eric. Hooray for reality TV.
