UPDATE: Currently Scotty’s single “I Love You This Big” is #2 overall and #1 country on iTunes. Lauren Alaina’s “Like My Mother Does” is #4 overall and #2 country. Scotty’s season compilation album is #2 on the overall album chart, #1 on country. Lauren’s compilation album is #8 on the overall album chart, #3 country.

Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will sing 3 songs on tonight’s American Idol final

We know the names of the singles Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina will sing tonight and release on Thursday, Scotty’s song is called “Love You This Big” and Lauren will sing a Kristy Lee Cook cover, “Like My Mother Does”.

We also know that Carrie Underwood picked a song for Lauren Alaina (A song Carrie had wanted to sing during her run on Idol) and George Strait for Scotty.

The third song will be picked by Scotty and Lauren from the songs they have already performed in Idol competition.

Update: According to Idol Chatter, Carrie Underwood will pick a song for Lauren Alaina and George Strait will choose for Scotty McCreery. No word on what those songs are. A third song will be a favorite performance chosen by Lauren and Scotty.

Lauren Alaina – Chattanooga Homecoming – Media

Lauren Alaina has a full day of activities scheduled for her hometown visit in Chattanooga TN today. Check out the schedule HERE.

Lauren sang “God Bless America” from Lookouts Field after throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. Earlier she visited Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School, where she sang “Anyway”. Later, she performed excerpts of “Flat on the Floor” and “Anyway” at Coolidge Park where she was presented the key to the city. Lauren cut back her song list–she was afraid of losing her voice. Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart, Lauren Alaina Homecoming Schedules

The American Idol 10 Top 3, Scotty McCreery, Haley Reinhart, and Lauren Alaina are jetting their way to their hometowns as we speak for their big Top 3 Idol celebrations.

They’ll be treated to a heroes welcome on Saturday as they participate in meet & greets, parades and a big concert to end the day. Also, if past history holds up–at some point during the day, they’ll learn what their judges’ choice song will be.
