Casey James Album Out by Fall, Single by Summer

This Sioux City Journal interview with Casey James reports that the Season 9 Idol’s debut album is scheduled to be out by fall and a single by summer.

Armed with a bunch of ideas for his first album, James started the process of becoming an artist and realized it’s a much more difficult than anyone thinks. “We’ve got a good chunk of the songs written, but I want to be sure they’re the right ones.”

A single should be out by summer, an album in the fall. “I’ve been blessed with the ability to write and to get to work with a bunch of writers from Nashville, ” he says. “I really want this CD to be good.”

Meanwhile, James is road testing the songs with his band. They’re opening for Sugarland and Little Big Town. “I’m doing six songs; the first one is a cover. We’re testing the originals to see which ones the audiences like.”

Casey has been writing with various songwriters, including Jaren Johnston, Patrick Davis, Aimee Mayo, Alabama’s Randy Owen and the latest, Kristian Bush from Sugarland.
