Casey Abrams Haley Reinhart Free as a Bird Beatles Cover

American Idol season 10 alums and frequent musical collaborators, Haley Reinhart and Casey Abrams just dropped a new cover duet!

To celebrate fourth of July, Casey and Haley released a rendition of The Beatles’ “Free as a Bird.” “I hope you guy an girls BLAST it and feel at peace while doing it,” wrote Haley on Twitter.

Casey tweeted, “Happy 4th of July! We all will be “Free As A Bird” someday…Pleasure making music with @HaleyRainhart with one of our fave @TheBeatles tunes.”

The song has an interesting history. “Free as a Bird” was originally written and recorded in 1977 as a home demo by John Lennon. In 1995, 25 years after the Beatles break-up and 15 years after Lennon was murdered, the band released a studio version incorporating contributions from his surviving bandmates Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
