Casey Abrams Performs Vintage “Umbrella” With Postmodern Jukebox (VIDEO)

I’m rarely left speechless by a music video. But here is one of those times. Postmodern Jukebox is back with a “Vintage Singin’ in the Rain” rendition of Rihanna’s 2007 hit, “Umbrella”. None other than American Idol season 10 alum, Casey Abrams, takes on lead vocals. But that’s not all! To make this production super-spectacular, and lend that 1950’s technicolor musical flavor are the tap dancing Cole Sisters, Sarah Reich and Melinda Sullivan.

Casey brings a little bit of Louis Armstrong to his vocal, and even tap dances a little, along with the umbrella-wielding tap sisters. The result is. Well. Indescribable. “Umbrella” has been covered hundreds of times, and in various ways, but this is not a version I could ever imagine. Even by Postmodern Jukebox standards, it’s pretty wild.

Check it out right here. FYI: Regular PMJ contributor, and Casey chum, Haley Reinhart has been hinting that she’s got a video in the pipeline with the vintage band coming up soon!
