Carrie Underwood will make an announcement at a special Facebook Q&A on Thursday August 20. Word is, the American Idol season 4 winner and country superstar will reveal her next single. Carrie has been recording her forthcoming album–the new song would be the record’s debut single.

There is also this cryptic ad, issued by Carrie’s record label, Arista Nashville. Do the math!
Carrie told Country Countdown USA that she’s working with a new producer, and that her new music will have a “rock vibe.”
“There’s definitely a different sound that’s coming together. I want everything to have its own space, and look different, sound different, feel different,” she said of her next record “So I’ve been working with another producer, as well as with Mark Bright, whom I’m always gonna love, but getting things a little different, and it’s been fun.
“I feel things have a different sort of twang to them, kind of a rock twang,” she said, “So there should be some things that they hopefully have liked about the music we’ve done, but also a little growth, a little bit of shift, so still things they’ve liked but new things to see, hear, and feel.”
There’s speculation that the new producer is Jay Joyce, who has also produced for Eric Churchand Little Big Town. In this issue of Billboard Mid Week Country Update from last September, Ben Vaughn, EVP of Warner/Chappell Nashville, confirmed that Joyce was working with Carrie and with Kelly Clarkson.
