Carrie Underwood & Cassadee Pope Nominated For 2014 CMT Music Awards!

Nominations for the CMT Music Awards, country’s answer to the MTV VMAs, were announced today, and several talent competition alums and judges are represented. The fan-voted awards are scheduled to air live on CMT on Wednesday 6/4. Last year’s winner for Video Of The Year Carrie Underwood is nominated for Video Of The Year and Female Video Of The Year for “See You Again.” Voice and CMT docudrama alum Cassadee Pope slips into a filler spot in Female Video Of The Year as well as the Breakthrough Video category with “Wasting All These Tears.” Looks like fellow Voice alum Danielle Bradbery will be made to wait until next year to figure into the nominations.

Collaborations pad the nominations totals for talent show coaches/judges Blake Shelton and Keith Urban, who score 3 and 4 nominations respectively. Speaking of collaborations and those 2 guys, slumming through “Boys Round Here” and singing “We Were Us” pushes Miranda Lambert to leading 6 nominations. Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan also benefit from collaborations (though our ears don’t), with 5 nominations apiece.
