Carrie Underwood along with Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, Jennifer Nettles, The Judds and Loretta Lynn were honored last night at the tribute special, ACM Presents Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country. The show was taped for broadcast on CBS April 22.
Jason Aldean, Ronnie Dunn, Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts and Blake Shelton were also on hand to honor the ladies.
Gill took to the stage to honor Carrie with a version of her hit song, “Jesus Take the Wheel”. Gill then joined a tearful Carrie to accompany her on guitar as she sang the powerful hymn, “How Great Thou Art”.
The show ended as the ladies came together to honor Loretta Lynn by singing “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Loretta could not attend due to surgery.
“My favorite part of the night was Carrie Underwood, ” said fellow honoree, Miranda Lambert. “She brought the house down.” Read more about the special night at the Associated Press.
