June 10th Marks Carrie’s Opry Anniversary
June 10 will be the 17th anniversary of Carrie’s first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry in 2005, just over two weeks after winning American Idol. The singer was inducted as an Opry member on May 10, 2008.
Carrie recently released “Ghost Story,” the first single from Denim and Rhinestones. Written by Josh Kear, Hillary Lindsey and David Garcia and co-produced by David Garcia and Carrie, the singer describes “Ghost Story” as “a different take on a revenge song, which is something I love to sing about. Instead of smashing headlights, this scorned lover is letting her ex know that she will continue to haunt him no matter how hard he tries to forget her.”
Carrie recently won 8th Grammy, 16th ACM
On Sunday April 3, Carrie took home her 8th Grammy Award winning for Best Roots Gospel Album for her album of gospel hymns, My Savior, which she co-produced with David Garcia. She also took the Grammy stage to perform the broadcast debut of “Ghost Story.” on CBS. See Carrie’s performance HERE.
Carrie also won her 16th ACM Award on March 7 for Single of the Year with Jason Aldean for their hit duet, “If I Didn’t Love You.” The multi-week #1 “If I Didn’t Love You” has spent a record-setting 26 weeks in the Top 10 of Billboard Country Airplay so far, with more than 323 million global streams RTD.
Additionally, Carrie completed the second sold-out run of REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency at the Resorts World Theatre March 23-April 2. She opened the new theatre with sold-out shows in December. Carrie’s residency continues with her next engagement May 11-21. Get tickets at axs.com/carrieinvegas.
Carrie’s most recent country album, Cry Pretty, dropped in 2018 and included the singles “Love Wins,” “Southbound” and the title track.
