Carly Smithson and Michael Johns were both on hand during Hollywood week last November for the first ever Hollywood boot camp.
The question is, will we see them on camera? Last week, Carly posted a MySpace blog announcing their appearance. But, while boot camp featured Barry Manilow, Michael Orland and Debra Byrd coaching the kids, there was no Michael or Carly.
Word is we’ll see them tonight, when the Hollywood rounds continue, and the Top 50 are revealed.
Tomorrow night, the Top 50 will be whittled down to the Top 36 in what’s come to be called the “chair” or the “green mile” episode. The kids will learn their fate as, one by one, they take a long walk down a hallway, and up an elevtator–the camera following every step–to sit in front of the judges.
Next week, the Top 36 will begin competing live in the semifinals. Each week, for 3 weeks, twelve contestants will face off, with the top girl, boy and next-place finisher advancing to the Top 12.
The last 3 spots will be filled by the judges during the wildcard show on March 5, when contestants are called back to perform for their last chance at a spot in the Top 12.
Then, the fun begins…
