Blake Shelton, dropped by the Today Show this morning (10/1/14) to chat about his 11th studio album, Bringing Back the Sunshine, released this week.
There’s a track on the record called “Bringing Back the Sunshine,” Blake explained about the title of the record, “…to me that means I’m bringing back some of the more traditional sounding stuff…as much as you can in country music these days, and still try to blend in.”
“I put pressure on myself,” Blake says about keeping a traditional country sound, “I never want to get too far away from what country is.”
The Voice coach cited “Neon Light,” the song he was about to sing, as a perfect example of blending the old with the new. What do you think? Does Blake succeed in pulling off a new/old sound? Check out his performance of the latest single, “Neon Light,” below!
