Former Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter, will dance his way into the 21st season of Dancing with the Stars.

According to US Magazine, Nick said yes after being asked to join the cast for the fifth gime.

It was fellow Backstreet Boy, Joey Fatone, who participated in Seasons 4 and 15, who convinced Nick to finally say yes.

“He talks about it all the time and I was really debating if I wanted to do it, and he said, ‘It’s a great experience, it keeps you in shape and it’ll teach you a lot of stuff,'” Joey said to Nick. “He said, ‘You’ll get what you put into it.’ And I’m a hard worker, so I think it’ll be fun.”

Nick’s younger brother, Aaron, finished in fifth place with partner Karina Smirnoff during DWTS Season 9.

“My brother was on it; he did great; and he’s a great little dancer and entertainer so I saw it through his eyes throughout that experience,” said Nick. “And there’s a lot of competitiveness in me and I think there’s a little something inside of me that says, ‘Okay, I’m going to go there and represent the Carter name and do even better than what he did!'”

“I never considered myself a great dancer,” Nick said of his own skills, even after years of choreographed boyband routines. “Even though funny enough I’ve danced my entire life, I might have had a little insecurity on that end. But I felt this time around I had some time and I think it’ll be a cool experience. I think they can teach me some stuff.”

He added, “I hope maybe I can become a better dancer! It’ll be a great experience to learn how to ballroom dance.”

Nick posted this video on twitter this morning:

Nick joins already announced castmates Bindi Irwin and triple crown jockey Victor Espinoza.

Some other celebs rumored to be on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars are Bachelorette, Kaitlynn Bristow, Pretty Little Liar’s Shay Mitchell, and gymnast and American Ninja Warrior, Kacy Catanzaro. According to E News,  Alexa Vega is in talks. .
