Anthony Fedorov announced in January that he joined the Chicago based band, 7th Heaven, as their lead singer. Today, the American Idol season 4 alum announced via twitter that he was no longer with the band.
For those of you who are just hearing the news and for those of you who already know, I am no longer with 7th Heaven. I just really want to thank all the 7th Heaven fans who have showed their support once I joined. Even though it was brief, I really loved performing for you guys. The passion that you share for the band and the music is truly amazing and I will take that with me wherever I go. There’s no one better to step in than Keith. Again, thank you all for the love and support you’ve shown me.
Respectfully Yours,
Anthony.
On their website, the band describes it as an abrupt parting of the ways:
It has been agreed by the entire band that we must part ways with Anthony Fedorov immediately. We do not plan on canceling any shows and we will be working very hard to maintain an excellent show for you until we can hire a permanent replacement. In the meantime, Keith Semple will return as lead vocalist for most of our shows thru the end of 2013. While Keith is not returning to the band full-time, he is coming back to help us out and will be singing at a majority of our remaining booked shows including tonight’s performance at Rivers Casino.
Anthony tweeted about performing with 7th Heaven as recently as August 18. The band has a very full tour schedule.
ETA: I agree with commenters, reading between the lines of the band’s statement, it appears that Anthony was fired, very abruptly. Notice that neither party thanks the other or sends well-wishes. Anthony’s thank you in his announcement is directed to the band’s fans.
