Advancing into next week’s finals are: Prince Poppycock, Michael Grimm, Jackie Evancho and Fighting Gravity.
TMZ and other sources report that Susan Boyle was left in tears at LAX airport when she learned that Lou Reed would not clear his song “Perfect Day” to perform on America’s Got Talent tonight. She was unprepared to sing another song, so, reportedly, she’s headed back to London…
Anyhoo. Tonight, YOUR votes determine the Top 4 contestants who will go into next week’s finale. There’s no judges choice this week.
Eliminations. Michael Grasso and Prince Poppycock take the stage first.
And it’s Prince Poppycock for the win! Michael Grasso is out!
I guess Poppycock didn’t piss off too many people with last night’s irreverent ode to the USA.
The cast of Broadway’s American Idiot perform next. Ohh. Singer sang “Mind F*ck America”. It was bleeped, but you could clearly read his lips. Is that allowed on network tv?
Michael Grimm and Taylor Matthews take the stage. Howie says he loves them both. Michael Grimm is in! Taylor Matthews is out. Just as it should be. Piers tells Michael that he has a good chance of taking it all.
Next, Sarah McLachlan sings “Forgiveness”
Jeremy Vanschoonhoven and Christina and Alli take the stage. OMG it better be Jeremy. Those girls are horrible. Sharon says they both progressed during the competition. Neither act is going through. Both are eliminated. Aw. They both looked shocked. The girls are all “We hope we touched some peoples’ lives!” Chirp, chirp! The little one is crying. Howie calls them all “winners.” Except they aren’t.
Jackie Evancho and Anna and Patryk take the stage. Yes, lets pit the kids against each other! Piers says both acts are “fabulously talented, ” with great futures ahead. And of course, it’s Jackie Evancho, skeery kid opera singer, who advances.
Fighting Gravity and Studio One Young Beast Society take the stage. Howie says they both deserve to go through. And the act going through is…Fighting Gravity.
No surprises here. I would have liked to see Michael Grasso make it through instead of say, Jackie Evancho, but that wasn’t going to happen. Next week, here’s hoping Fighting Gravity wins. Maybe the 3 singers will cancel each other out.
