America’s Got Talent heads to its fourth audition episode on Tuesday (June 21). Featured on the show is Kristy Sellars, a mother of three kids from Australia who also happens to be a pole dancer. Kristy has trained in “lots of styles of dance” but pole dancing captured her. “This is amazing,” she thought, the first time she tried it.
Kristy won Australia’s Got Talent in 2019
Meanwhile, judge Simon Cowell makes a point to look super annoyed. Kristy is hoping her act wins the million dollar prize. But she has reason to believe she has a chance. Kristy’s pole dancing act won Australia’s Got Talent back in 2019.
Heidi Klum asks Simon what he thinks of pole dancing. He calls it pointless. Simon behaving dramatically grumpy means he is about to have his mind changed.
While Kristy performs the standard pole dancing moves, she sets herself apart by adding a storytelling element, using props and projection multimedia to create a full blown spectacle. There have been many pole dancing acts on America’s Got Talent, but none quite like this. Kristy synchronizes her moves to seemingly control a surreal and fantastical story of a pole dancing time jumper.
By the time Kristy’s performance ends, grumpy old Simon is smiling.
America’s Got Talent airs on NBC Tuesday at 8 pm ET/PT.
