Kameron Ross learned to love country music growing up in Texas. He began singing in “little bitty towns” all over East Texas, but at the same time, he came to the realization that he was gay. Coming out was difficult, and not really accepted by the conservative Texas audiences. He started to see “less interest” in his music.

After he began losing gigs, Kameron took a break from music to figure out next steps. Currently, he works as a sales director for a technology company. But, now, he’s ready to face challenges head on and “work back towards music.”

Kameron sings “Red Dirt Road,” by Brooks & Dunn for judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara. Heidi Klum is out sick with a mysterious illness. Also, Kameron performs in an empty theater, due to coronavirus concerns. In any case, Simon stops him in the middle of his performance and asks for an acapella performance. Kameron’s second take is more emotional and heartfelt.
