America’s Got Talent 2021 live shows continue with the second week of Quarterfinals. Twelve more of the Top 36 acts will compete for your votes.

My first power list for Quarterfinals week 1 was a lot closer to being right than I anticipated! The only surprise for me was Gina Brillon in the top 5 instead of Canine Stars. But maybe it shouldn’t have been a surprise given how much of a ringer Gina really is.

Now it’s time for my second power list of AGT 2021! And this week, there’s even less I’m excited about than with the first week. That’s not a good sign. But I’m hoping some of these acts will surprise me and earn their spots in the semifinal. I’ll almost certainly be a lot less accurate this time since I’m just basing this list off the auditions, not the live show performances and judge comments/bussings. But it’s more fun when I’m wrong, so here we go!

America’s Got Talent Quarterfinals week 2 power list

12 – Johnny Showcase: I’d be astonished if Johnny made it past this round. Joke acts often make live shows – see Sethward last week – but extremely rarely make it past the first round – see Sethward last week.

11 – Tory Vagasy: Howie bussed her in the first round. And honestly, I wasn’t blown away by her first performance either. I mean, it wasn’t bad, but I think Grace Kinstler on Idol set the standard for how to sing “Into the Unknown” in a singing competition. Tory didn’t live up.

10 – Aidan Bryant: This teen aerialist didn’t really blow me away with his first audition. An aerialist type act has never won this show. I can’t remember any in the top 5 – I started watching AGT in season 9 so I could be wrong about that.

9 – Shuffolution: They’re not terrible but Dokutek Crew are much better. If only one dance group is making it, it won’t be this one.

8 – Positive Impact Movement: For four muscular shirtless guys, they didn’t get as many Youtube views as I would’ve expected. That’s why they’re ranked low. They could surprise me but I’m not expecting it.

7 – Peter Antoniou: Mind reading acts never impress me if I’m honest, particularly when the person on the other end is famous and details are on Google. I think Peter will be on the bubble.

6 – Josh Blue: The comedian with a disability is becoming its own recurring trope on AGT. And Josh Blue, despite winning Last Comic Standing, might have had the weakest audition of any disabled comedian so far. I know from friends that he has much better material than he showed in his audition. I’d love to see him make it, but he needs to impress first.

5 – Dokteuk Crew: I think their first audition was great. Not the best dance troupe this season, but still great. They got a lot of views as well. I think they have a real shot at advancing.

4 – T.3: Their audition was one of the more memorable ones of the season for me. Their harmonies were great and individually one of them was spectacular. I hope they make it through.

3 – Korean Soul: They have tons of Youtube views, and great harmonies. I think they’re pretty much a lock, barring a bussing.

2 – Northwell Nurse Choir: They got the golden buzzer for their story, not their talent. I was extremely underwhelmed by the act if I’m honest. Given that they got the least views of any Golden Buzzer act on YouTube, I don’t think I’m alone in that opinion. But golden buzzer = sailing through this round at least.

1 – Victory Brinker: The child opera singer is an AGT trope at this point as well. I wasn’t blown away by Victory, mostly because I’m numb to this type of act after seeing a new one every year. But again, golden buzzer, particularly a new kind of golden buzzer, means she’s a lock.

America’s Got Talent airs on NBC Tuesday August 17 and Wednesday August 18 with judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara and host Terry Crews.

Wednesday’s results show features performances from Season 14 winner, singer Kodi Lee and season 11 mentalist duo The Clairvoyants.. H.E.R. and Season 14 winner Kodi Lee will join forces to sing “Hold On.”
