Simon Cowell has chosen the four celebrities who will join the rest of the America’s Got Talent judge’s, including Howie Mandel, Mel B. and Heidi Klum, for the America’s Got Talent judge cuts.
Internationally known celebrities George Lopez, Reba McEntire, NE-YO and Louis Tomlinson join the America’s Got Talent panel for The Judge Cuts, slated to begin Tuesday, July 12 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and will begin the show’s twice weekly airdates on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the remainder of the season.
The way it worked last season: Each episode of the Judge Cuts featured a “Fifth Judge” who was attached to a specific panel member. The press release doesn’t say, but you can pretty easily guess that Louis will be Simon’s guest judge. Each of the celebrities had the opportunity to save one act. During the Judge Cuts, the panel chooses the acts that will move on to the live shows.
In case you aren’t familiar with the celebrities, here’s a refresher:
George Lopez’s multi-faceted career encompasses television, film, standup comedy and late-night television. He is currently on his standup comedy tour, “The Comedy Get Down,” with Charlie Murphy, Eddie Griffin, D.L. Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer in arenas across the country.
A multi-media entertainment mogul and mom, Reba McEntire has become a household name with a successful career that spans across music, television, film, theater and retail.
Grammy Award-winning singer, composer, producer and actor NE-YO (born Shaffer C. Smith) is a talent sought by many artists. Following the competition, Syco signed One Direction and the band soon rocketed to stardom, and became one of the most internationally successful groups in history earning a wealth of fans across the world and more than 169 globally renowned music awards.
One Direction sold over 60million records and completed four sell out world tours. The boys made their fifth and latest album, “Made in the A.M.,” in 2015, performing two tracks from it on the “The X-Factor” finale before announcing they were taking a hiatus from touring in 2016.
