Louis Knight dropped a note to his fans on Instagram letting them know that he’s tested positive for Covid-19. What’s more, the American Idol 2020 alum and 2021 Comeback contestant got vaccinated with the Pfizer jab a few months ago. He warns his followers to take extra precautions.
Louis tests positive for Covid-19 despite being vaccinated “I feel pretty awful” he says
“hey everyone, by no means am i a heath expert i just want to tell you what’s going on with me,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’ve been fully vaccinated for a little over 2 months with the Pfizer vaccine. Yesterday morning i tested positive for covid, and I’m experiencing all the symptoms of the new “delta variant”.” Louis continued, “I just want to let you all know that even vaccinated you can still get covid so please think about still taking extra precautions. This pandemic sadly is not over yet :/ I cannot imagine what this would be like if i wasn’t vaccinated, i feel awful as it is. love you all.”
Louis tested positive on Thursday (July 15). “I’m feeling pretty awful,” Louis says in the accompanying video. In other words, he’s not only tested positive for Covid-19, but he has symptoms that are making him feel fairly ill.
Cases are rising faster in places with low vaccination rates
It’s worth noting that, even as the Delta variant sweeps through the United States, so far 99% of the people who died from COVID-19 since January were unvaccinated. New cases are rising everywhere, but they are rising faster in places with low vaccination rates. This overview of the latests CDC statistics from Healthline is helpful.
And because I’m 100% sure this recent Jerusalem Post article will wind up in comments, here it is. The government is alarmed at the increase of COVID-19 cases in Israel, and notes that the Pfizer jab is weaker than they had hoped.
The vaccines were never touted as 100% effective. But so far, they appear to be keeping keeping people out of the hospital and more importantly, alive.
Sending good, healing thoughts out to Louis that he’ll be feeling better soon.

Louis’ busy summer
As far as Louis is concerned. He kept busy this summer, performing a concert with fellow 2020 singer Julia Gargano, alongside season 2021 alum Wyatt Pike. Three weeks ago, Louis posted a photo taken with his girlfriend in Greece.
On June 30th, Louis uploaded a performance of “London” performed live at the Maastricht Train Station in the Netherlands.
Additionally Louis competed against nine fellow season 2020 contestants for a spot in the 2021 Top 10 in the Comeback competition. Last year’s runner-up Arthur Gunn ultimately won America’s vote. But Louis delivered a showstopping closing performance of his original song “Maybe That” on the night that, despite finishing in the Top 7 in 2020, seemed to give Arthur and everyone else competing stiff competition.
