Fans in the audience at Friday night’s (Aug 16) David Cook concert at the Basement in Nashville were in for a treat. The American Idol season 7 winner invited the season 8 winner, Kris Allen out for a song!
David invited Kris out to sing lead on Peter Gabriel’s iconic song “In Your Eyes” for the last performance of the night. Apparently the two “worked up” the cover in about an hour the day before. “Don’t be scared Dave!” Kris assured his fellow Idol winner, who was a little worried the performance might go poorly. David’s former band mate, Andy Skib, also joined him on stage for the performance.
Don’t you love it when singing show alums from different seasons, shows and formats come together for live performances? I know I do.
Both David and Kris live in Nashville. David is currently on the road for a summer/fall tour, while Kris is at home enjoying time with his family after the birth of his 3rd child. However, Kris will also be hitting the road beginning Oct 2 in Boston.
