American Idol’s Casey Carver’s Son Tests Positive for COVID-19

American Idol alum and Instagram influencer Casey Carver Goode revealed that her newborn son, Maximillian, tested positive for coronavirus.

On Sunday, Casey, AKA Quigley on Instagram, shared a post from the hospital with her baby boy, who was released from the NICU just a week prior.

“Max tested positive for COVID-19 early Saturday am. We took him into the ER after he was running a fever in the middle of the night. We had confirmation that he was exposed from direct contact with a medical professional who had cared for him earlier in the week,” the new mom explained.

“This has been a total shock to us. I am currently quarantining with baby Max in the PICU. They are treating me as if I have been exposed and are likely positive as well, although I am showing no symptoms yet,” she added. “Please send good energy to our little bub so he recovers fast. Not sure what happens next from here… but I expect to be offline for a while as we recover. ??.”

Casey and her husband Alex welcomed their first child in late September. On Instagram, she documented the complicated labor experience.

According to one of her posts, she went into labor at exactly 37 weeks.

You may remember Casey, then known as Casey Carver, from American Idol season 8 in 2009. She was in the news in March 2019 for sharing her not so positive American Idol experience. After the judges eliminated her at the Top 36 she writes: “I was heart broken and humiliated. I went home to Minnesota feeling lost and confused and so unsure of what the future held for me. It took years before I was able to perform again- to sing again… to put myself out there.”

Eventually she found her way to Instagram where she models fashion and gives out life advice.

As far as her baby’s COVID is concerned. It’s horrible that he caught it while in the hospital. Hopefully baby and mama stay well.
