American Idol Winner Just Sam Signs with Hollywood Records/19
American Idol winner Just Sam has inked an exclusive record deal with Hollywood/19. Hollywood Records welcomes her to the family on social media. “We are THRILLED to welcome your new American Idol justsam.co to the #HWRFamily! ? Congratulations Just Sam! ? We are SO excited to see your journey! ?”
The native New Yorker quarantined in Los Angeles to keep her beloved grandmother safe back in New York. Throughout the season, she performed songs such as “Believe” by Fantasia, “Como La Flor” by Selena and more. But it was her audition song, Andra Day’s “Rise Up” that caught the judges, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan’s attention. From there, they took the young singer under their wing.
It was no surprise, then, that Sam chose “Rise Up” as her official American Idol single when she advanced to the Top 5 on the finale. Sam recently told Billboard magazine that she’s already working on new music “I’m confident this new team that I’m on will help me to go very far,” she said, “I’m confident in my abilities and you guys will love the song that I will put out. You guys are gonna love it, I mean, I hope.”
