Could young American Idol 15 contestant, Tristan McIntosh be any more excited? Remember the fifteen year old singer’s touching audition. She sang Mickey Guyton’s “Why Baby Why” beautifully, but had tears in her eyes, because her mother was not by her side. Or so she thought. Tristan’s mom, with the help of American Idol producers planned a huge surprise for the singer. Mom was able to take a leave from her deployment in the middle east, where she was serving as a major in the army, to hand a golden ticket to her daughter. It was an incredibly emotional moment, not only for mother and daughter, but for everyone in the audition room, as well.
The song, “Why Baby Why” is sung by new Nashville talent, Mickey Guyton. But she’s not new to Idol, having made the Top 50 back in season 7.
Anyway, Mickey INVITED Tristan to perform the song with her on stage in Nashville Tuesday night! “I got to meet her yesterday,” Mickey says excitedly, on stage at Nashville’s Marathon Music Works. The two were chit chatting over coffee on Monday when Mickey asked Tristan casually, “Are you doing anything tomorrow? You want to come sing a song with me?” Tristan was all in.
“She’s like the sweetest thing,” Mickey said as Tristan took the stage, “People think she’s really shy, she’s not, she’s just reserved.”
