Last night’s American Idol ratings. And the news isn’t good.

Led by American Idol, Fox won this first Tuesday in May (and sixth night of the May 2010 sweeps) in both total viewers and adults 18-49. American Idol opened the night with 17.08 million viewers and a 6.1 rating/18 share among adults 18-49 from 8-9 p.m., which led the pack on Tuesday. But it was not that long ago when the music competition hovered in the 25-30 million range.
