American Idol Ratings Drop Again

Nielsen fast overnight ratings from Marc Berman:

As for American Idol, the 90-minute telecast averaged an approximate 23.46 million viewers and an 8.6/22 among adults 18-49, with the half-hour breakdown as follows:

American Idol (Fox)
8:00 p.m. ‘ Viewers: 21.37 million (#1), A18-49: 7.6/22 (#1)
8:30 p.m. ‘ Viewers: 25.34 million (#1), A18-49: 9.2/24 (#1)
9:00 p.m. ‘ Viewers: 23.67 million (#1), A18-49: 9.0/22 (#1)

That’s down 10% from last Wednesday’s performance show that averaged 25.60 million viewers and a 9.1 rating/24 share.

Season 7, the Top 9 averaged 26.1M viewers and 9.6/26 in the demo.

Update: New numbers that excise the 5 minutes of that horrid Osbourn special that surely had viewers reaching for their remotes:
