Headlines: American Idol Nostalgia, Carrie Underwood Sings About Pee

Tonight The Amazing Race feat social media stars continues in Colombia. We’re live blogging at 8/7c pm CBS.

Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots’ New Comedy LP Boasts Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks: Exclusive – If you’re hearing someone who sounds like country superstar Luke Bryan deliver a unique take on the Gettysburg Address, or Carrie Underwood’s angelic voice lamenting her partner “peeing on the toilet seat” in a love-gone-wrong song, you’ve no doubt gotten hold of the first full length comedy album from Bobby Bones and the Raging Idiots. “I’ve never seen a human sing like Carrie Underwood,” he continues. “So when she first sang ‘peeing on a toilet seat’ I laughed out loud, like ‘What life is this?’ That’s what I ask myself. I write these stupid songs, and then Carrie Underwood is here singing about a dude peeing on a toilet seat. It’s for real and it shouldn’t be happening. [That’s] not lost on me.” – Read more at Billboard.com

‘American Idol’: Things You Didn’t See on Season 15’s First Live Show – It was the first live show of season 15 and the first stop for special guests is the credentials desk just outside the studio. That’s where Billboard was hanging out when we spotted a familiar face. It didn’t seem possible, as Clark Beckham lives in Nashville. But it was indeed the runner-up of season 14, who was surprised himself to be returning to Idol. “I’m in town to play a couple of gigs at the Upper Room in Orange County on Saturday and Sunday night,” he explained. “I wanted to visit. I didn’t know there was a live show tonight. I was just going to come by and say hi to people at rehearsal but it worked out.” Read more at Billboard

‘Idol’ talk: Cook excited for return to KC and ‘Idol’ stage – The 2001 Blue Springs South High School graduate will headline the Digital Vein Tour at 8 p.m., March 19 at the VooDoo Lounge at Harrah’s North Kansas City Casino. And he couldn’t be more excited. “It’s going to be great coming home and performing a stress-free concert,” Cook said in a Thursday morning phone interview. “When you’re home with family and friends, you hope the boos will be held down to a minimum.” That’s something Cook has nothing to worry about as he is still an idol to many of his fans in Eastern Jackson County. – Examiner.net

Lee DeWyze playing the Wonder Bar – “That was the plan,” DeWyze said while calling from Toronto. “I wanted this album to be about the lyric and the vocal. I didn’t want this to be about this cluster of sounds. We’re surrounded by that. Turn on the radio and it’s one huge song after another. How much can you take of that?” The less is more concept works for DeWyze. The sensitive approach has yielded a collection of introspective and clever songs. Give DeWyze, 29, who will perform solo acoustic Saturday at the Wonder Bar, credit for having the courage to not follow trends. – Read more at APP.com

Scott Savol: Journey from Northeast Ohio to Top 5 on American Idol – “I was always kind of a quiet person,” Scott told Bill Martin. “I did have a lot of belief of myself but once I got out there and saw that most people find something that they’re good at, that people accept and people enjoy, I found that with idol.” Scott landed in the Top 5 on season 4, the same year as Carrie Underwood. Now, he works for a local cable provider while he sings with his band ‘Avenue’ in his free time. He said although stardom hasn’t hit, he doesn’t think he’s failed. – Watch Video at FOX8

Keith Urban on His Tearful Reaction to Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Idol’ Performance: ‘It’s an Amazing Song’ – “[She’s] just a phenomenal singer,” Urban told ET. “She did a great job tonight.” Urban explained that he wasn’t surprised by Clarkson’s powerhouse performance because she’s “so real,” and addressed his tearful reaction to her poignant song, which she wrote about being abandoned by her father as a child. “The song, it’s insane. I figure you’re either crying at this performance or you need to check your pulse,” Urban said. “It’s an amazing song.” – EtOnline
