American Idol Winner Laine Hardy Drops Two New Songs
“I’m so excited to finally release this new music!” Laine wrote on social media. “I hope these songs give you an idea of where I grew up on the Bayou. Louisiana is always going to be in my heart. Y’all can watch the video and listen to #LetThereBeCountry and #GroundIGrewUpOn”
Written by Brandon Kinney, Brett Beavers and Josh Thompson, the Michael Knox produced “Ground I Grew Up On” comes with a music video shot in Laine’s hometown, Livingston, Louisiana. “The ‘Ground I Grew Up On’ video is spot on what I love to do and how I grew up, hanging with all my buddies on the river and just having a good time!” Laine writes.

Jason Afable, Steve Moakler and Tim Nicholas wrote the rolicking “Let There Be Country, with production once again by Michael Knox.
Laine told The Boot last year that he recorded new songs with Michael Knox. The in-demand country music producer is known for discovering Jason Aldean and producing all nine of his studio albums.
“After I got off the show, all of the sudden I was in Nashville in June and I wrote some songs until late July,” Laine said.
“[My partnership with Knox] was just being tossed around and stuff at first, and it was a really great, cool opportunity to chase,” Laine said. Check out the audio below.
