Hm… Taylor Swift posted a very revealing short video on her Instagram story recently. It’s a note from American Idol judge Katy Perry wanting to “clear the air” and mend their years long feud.
As her camera pans over the gift, Taylor narrates: “I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch. This means so much to me.”
“Hey Old Friend — I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunications and hurt feelings between us,” the partially obscured letter says.

So the feud is over?
For those who need a refresher: It all began in 2014 when Taylor told Rolling Stone that the song “Bad Blood” was about a fellow female pop singer who tried to “sabotage an entire arena tour.” It didn’t take long for fans to put two and two together. A few dancers left Taylor’s tour to join Katy on her tour. The dancers in question insisted that they only danced for Taylor while Katy was off the road, and always intended to return to her.
Shortly after the RS article came out, Perry tweeted: “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…”
Veiled sniping between the two has being going on ever since. For instance, Katy threw a tiny bit of shade at Katy on American Idol.
And Katy’s single “Swish Swish” was supposedly a clapback directed at Taylor.
However, recently, Katy was sharing in interviews that she was ready to move on. She told James Corden of the Late Late Show in an interview “I’m ready for that B.S. to be done,” she said. “I think that women together, not divided, will heal the world.”
Katy has yet to react. Maybe she was not expecting Taylor to make her letter public.
