American Idol winner Noah Thompson made a major career change recently. He moved from his hometown in Kentucky, where he was born, raised and discovered by American Idol, to Music City Nashville!

“Lil bathroom selfie in the new house!!” the country singer captioned a photo of himself in his new Tennessee digs. “Figured after months of traveling back and forth, just to give y’all an update of what’s been going on I finally moved to Nashville.”

Noah continued, “It’s been hectic trying to get everything done in the move but it’s all coming together. I’m really looking forward to this new chapter, can’t wait to get back out on the road and put out some new music for y’all, stay tuned.”

Noah has been hinting about the Nashville move for a few months now. The move must have been hard, because he has a young son that apparently still lives in Kentucky. Fans in comments are speculating about the state of Noah’s relationship to his son’s mother, with most saying they broke up. “Stay small town country and humble no matter where life leads you,” one commenter advised him.

Last month, Noah posted professionally shot photos of his son Walker. “Look how pretty this little dude is, @lenawebbphotography you absolutely killed these!!” Noah captioned the sweet father/son photos. “Thank you so much!!! #fatherandson #lovelikenoother #littleboy.”

Noah is joining a SLEW of American Idol alums who call Nashville home, including runner-up from Noah’s season, HunterGirl, 3rd place finisher, Leah Marlene lives in Nashville. Top 5 finisher, Fritz Hager lives in Los Angeles, but also plans on moving to the city. Season 18 runner-up Caleb Lee Hutchinson also calls Nashville home. And winner of that season, Maddie Poppe has been posting hilarious Instagram stories about the Nashville house she has been rehabbing. In other words: Noah has plenty of pals to hang out with!

“New music is coming!”

Noah ended 2022 by releasing a single “Make You Rich” and co-headlining a tour with HunterGirl.

“I’m from a small town in Eastern Kentucky and didn’t grow up with much,” Noah said in a press statement about  “Make You Rich.” “I’ve learned to value my friends and family so much more than the materialistic things we can have in life. I joke that I’m just a simple guy. I’ve also learned, even when life is tough, the more you give and the more you love, the richer you are, and that is the whole meaning behind ‘Make You Rich.’”

He also teased a new song “She Gets it From Me” which appears to be Noah’s next single. Noah wrote on an Instagram post alongside audio of the new song, “You guys have been asking for some new music. I just got this master back, y’all tell me how you feel about it. love this freakin song. I hope y’all do to!! Let me know In the comments!! #shegetsitfromme #newmusiccoming”
