American Idol 2nd Night Ratings Drop 14%

Ruh rho. Put that cork back in the champagne bottle FOX! From The Live Feed:

The second night of Fox’s “American Idol” slipped in the ratings from its blockbuster premiere.

Wednesday’s 90-minute episode dropped 14% from its Tuesday two-hour opener.

Given the running-time difference and the show’s high-flying premiere, this change isn’t really surprising. Last year, “Idol” climbed for its second episode, but it was the first time in five years Fox has pulled off that trick.

“Idol” drew 26.4 million viewers and a 10.1 preliminary rating among adults 18-49.

Last year, the second night premiere preliminary numbers were 29.85 million viewers and an 11.6 rating/29 share among adults 18-49
